Note: 8BA Rings must be used with Ford 8BA or Mercury EAC Pistons when fitting in 1939-48 motors. The 8BA & EAC type pistons have a 3/16" (.1875) wide oil ring groove. Some 39-48 motors were built with 8BA pistons. The 8BA rings will not fit the original 29A pistons with 5/32" wide oil control grooves.
